About me

I am the head of a research group at University of Munich. In my research, I currently focus primarily on the interface between literary studies and biblical studies. Large language models, known through ChatGPT, also play a central role in this work. I am particularly interested in the impact artificial intelligence will have on religion and culture. My research has been recognized multiple times for its innovation and societal relevance. For example, I have researched whether a "hidden" criticism of the Roman Empire can be found in the writings of the Apostle Paul, who is often regarded as a submissive conformist to the state - which has far-reaching implications for the relationship between church and state and resistance against oppressive regimes.
